Free Russians are modern Jews
We are people without land, without representation even at home, even for those who stay inside. The old home, the country isn’t a home for us anymore. It’s hostile, unsafe. Even parental houses became hostile for many of us. Out thoughts are outlawed, desires forbidden, values lead to incarceration, future shattered. We roam, we hide, we emigrate, some geographically, others innerly.
We are Europeans, we believe in freedom, liberty, democracy, tolerance of everything except violence. We are Europeans but the West has turned its back on us. We are Europeans but we are not welcome there too.
We are alienated everywhere inside Russia and outside. Our presence is irritating, unwanted. Neighboring countries are sealing off the borders, many have stopped giving visas, others rarely give them. Even Georgia sheltering dozens of thousands of our people doesn’t allow some fleeting from the regime activists to enter, most probably due to a fear to anger the Bear.
We help others, we help Ukrainians, orphans, elderly … inside and outside. We break the Black and White picture of the world, we complicate everything.
We are homeless, scattered, nomadic, in a constant search for a shelter even a temporal. We stay for a night and move further. We travel thousands of kilometers just to hug a friend which used to live next door.
And we dream. We dream of the Beautiful Russia of the Future, our Holly Land, which nobody has promised to us.
